The exclusive provision of urban transport services in Thessaloniki by OASTH has resulted in it becoming an
integral part of the daily lives of its residents, connect- ing them to their work, homes, leisure activities, and en- tertainment. Buses became a place for socialising and
solidarity, for commenting on everyday life, for reflec- tion and thought.
As it seems, many Thessalonians –especially the old- er ones– proudly remember the first articulated buses that came to the city (and Greece) in 1978, or even the models that came out later, with their characteristic nick-
