The Organisation of Urban Transportation of Thessal- oniki (OSETH), a public benefit company, would play a co- ordinating role in this new reality. OSETH was the succes- sor to SASTH, which had been established in 2001, while the Thessaloniki Urban Transport company (ASITH) was also established as a subsidiary of OSETH. ASITH would also be a non-profit company, with the aim of implement- ing the urban transport project in Thessaloniki, in cooper- ation with both OASTH and Attiko Metro SA”
Regarding OASTH specifically, under the new legis- lative framework, previous financial agreements were abolished, while all movable and immovable proper- ty, together with the organisation’s shares, were trans- ferred to the Greek State. The organisation was to re- main in special liquidation in operation until December 31, 2019, until its work was taken over entirely by ASITH. Ultimately, the date was extended to 2022, but it con- tinues to this day.
