buses have constituted a major part of the fleet, espe- cially on the busiest routes. At the same time, during these years, OASTH established night routes to trans- port workers and people going out for entertainment, while also installing canopies at the starting and ending points of routes, as well as at stops along the routes.
post-1979 expansions
With Law 866/ 1979, the second legislative regulation concerning OASTH, the organisation expanded its area of operation at the expense of the Thessaloniki Inter- city Bus Service, while the small boats connecting the city with the eastern coast had already been abolished.
